Last lift. Phew

That’s the last of the potatoes lifted. A petty decent crop of good sized spuds. Three varieties - Kennebek - white/blond and drought resistant, Desiree, and a tart-skinned ruby red potato. All did well. V little rot or canker this year. No blight and not sprayed. It will be a challenge to eat them all before they sprout.

Storm Boris( ghastly name) has been doing huge damage in Poland, Czech Rep, Romania and Austria. Returning to its Italian starting point tomorrow. A classic cut-off low surrounded by high pressure systems with nowhere to go and fed by the massive temperature and humidity gradient between an escaped Arctic air mass and subtropical air saturated with evaporation from a super hot Mediterranean.
