Stokesay & Clun Castles in Shropshire
We had breakfast at Castle Lodge Buttery, around the corner from our flat then we were off to Stokesay Castle (English Heritage) and it's a fabulous place.
After that we visited Clun Castle (EH, ruins).
Did the lab cache at Stokesay and a traditional one; left a Travel Bug (not mine) and I did the first stage of a lab cache at Clun but on the walk to the ruins I completely forgot to do any more stages and I passed at least 2 of them!
Clun village was quite pretty but Stokesay was stunning.
Back to Ludlow and ice creams which we ate while sitting in the park by the castle.
We had our evening meal in The Rose & Crown which was very good but the young lady serving us needs some instruction on hygiene. Thankfully, she had finished serving us when she stroked a customer's puppy twice before handling cutlery - she didn't wash her hands before wrapping sets of cutlery in serviettes (lots of them). She had some sort of tea towel that looked grimy and I didn't like to watch in case she used it to wipe the cutlery with!
