Kory's Alphabet
One of Kory's favourite books is one called "Alfie's Alphabet" where Alfie talks about something with every letter of the alphabet. Kory from a young age has been a bit obsessed with the alphabet, could say it at about 18months and recognised the letters too in small form (eg 'a, b, c) and capital form (eg A, B, C)
Anyway, this morning he asked if he could be like Alfie and do his own alphabet. So while I was ironing, he busied himself filling a basket with items starting with each letter of the alphabet then laying them out as you can see. I was very impressed, Kory has just turned 4 and he only struggled with a couple. It wasn't he didn't know what letter, it was he couldn't think of things in the house starting with those letters and to be fair I struggled too!
Incase you can't quite see them all, they are (l-r):
Apple, Ball, Cat, Dog, Egg, Frog, Glasses, Helicopter, Ice-Cream, Jelly, Kiwi, Lolly, Money, Nappy, Octopus, Penguin, Queen, Rabbit, Socks, Transformer, Umbrella, Van, Wipes, X's (drew kisses on paper which I thought was inventive!!), Yoghurt, Zebra.
