Cinema selfie

I arrive early to meet Laura and Sian at The Curzon Mayfair. Outside the morning is bright and crisp. Inside it is dark and atmospheric. 

I say to the barista "It's very Twin Peaks in here". he obligingly puts Blue Velvet on the sound system.

We watched Kate Winslet's biopic of Lee Miller, a photographer who's work I admire greatly. We enjoyed it enormously and thought it well paced and included the necessary harrowing truths of war without being gratuitous in any way.

Back out into the autumn sunshine we went for a late Sunday lunch at Bancone in Golden Square. I highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the mussel linguini :-)
