The Livingstone Family at Killinchy

This week end marks European Heritage Open Day and Killinchy Parish Church, which has a connection to the Livingstone family, was open to members of the public to explore their interpretative centre.

It tells the transatlantic story of the Livingstone family.  Rev John Livingstone was the first Protestant rector of Killinchy in 1630.  He was behind the building of the Eagle Wing, the first recorded attempted sailing between Ulster and America.
