A Local.

I discover there are a million things to think about photographing a complex face. Royal red carpets to portrait makers that they move between using colour and black and white repeatedly producing quality blips of faces (Graham McArthur, A Thousand Faces...among others).

My subject is as local a lass as there is descended from original settlers and she has a status in her local town that is as considerable as her warm and expansive heart. She works as a professional carer and I see her at various venues escorting her aged and frail clients to help them at a practical level (shopping, medical appointments, community engagements) ... more importantly giving them her self regards her time and her attention. One of the first things she ever told me about her ambitions was that getting people out of their homes out and about she loved best. She loved, she said, to drive people places they wanted to go.

Her volunteer contributions to her town she left for study and training and worked away from for a number of years include to now the local Show, CWA, Wheat Society, and so on...a local girl come home.
