Saturday

Whizzed past!
A short walk with Dippy to experience an astonishing pre sunrise and sunrise.
A stroll around the campsite and chat with happy campers.
(1)Three cyclists enjoying their first cuppa in the fresh morning air.
Dippy and I introduced a one year old camper to the chicken pen to help feed them after which he collected a warm freshly laid egg for his breakfast, how rewarding can life become?
Off to ParkRun and very sociable in glorious sunshine and with so many likeminded people.
Bumped into Paul who kindly encouraged and supported me to walk outdoors after my accident in February. 3 cups of tea and a shared flapjack lasted lots longer than an hour with constant interaction with friends who recognised us.
A spontaneous diversion from the home run resulted in a bowl of cheesy chips and a pint (of water) at the Westleigh Inn, Dippy curled up in the corner and went into recovery mode:)
Next stop was the church 400 yards up the hill from our lunch stop.
A “teddies off the tower” event including picnic, treasure hunt, parachute construction refreshments etc.
A and I applied some of our joint aeronautical skills in the parachute jump and were able to share the spoils from top of the podium (Haribo), other confectionery is available at most retail stores;)
Henri and his lady friend joined in the refreshment party inside the well cared for church.
We then headed to the beach for a famous ice cream and for Dippy, his mum and dad to acclimatise in the water. It was lovely to see the confidence building in my little canine friend <3
After a couple of hours it was time to head back to base where T, S, E, E, F and I made the spontaneous decision to pile into two cars and tackle Bideford Carnival!
A well supported event was enjoyed before we drifted along the quayside to the fairground this resulted in me being conned into being strapped into a centrifugal device with flashing lights, deafening music and screaming children for what seemed a lifetime! Having survived this experience I was relieved to escape and help T load 2 large barrels of oil onto his Tugboat moored further along the quay. From there I was able to capture a few sky bound fireworks ending the evening’s entertainment
A chilly finish to the evening required a hot beverage before a welcoming bed and Zzzzzzz’s.
