Spider Nebula

I noticed a small orb web catching the light in the ivy bush this morning. At the time there was no sign of the spider. I tried various settings in an attempt to capture what I could see, it was difficult as it was breezy. When I looked on screen the tiny spider had returned to the centre of its web.

I watched as a garden spider caught a ivy bee in its web. It's amazing how quickly it wrapped its prey. How does it produce that silken shroud
so quickly? (Extras)

The female fruit fly/gallfly/picture-winged fly in extras could be a ragwort Campiglossa.

A comma and a holly blue visited briefly and I saw my first spotty-bottom-fly of the season. Can't wait to get a decent shot of it. :)
