Solace Day 1 - KIngfisher

Friday 13th - I'm not superstitious, but it began badly! Just after midnight I was kneeling on the bathroom floor. Thankfully I had recognised the nauseous feeling, even though I haven't been sick since 7th January 1982.

I managed a bit of sleep but got up not feeling grand. Too bad! We were picking Kanyl up at 10am so I had to get on the move.  The journey down to Staffordshire was long and tedious and my tummy ached.

Kat, #2 Daughter was waiting for us at the marina. She had had a week on the boat with her friends and was spending the second week of her holiday with us. Great! She knows how to look after old people!

My spirits were lifted as we were sitting on the foredeck before tea, after only 3 hours on the canal, Kat noticed a kingfisher in the tree just beside us. Of course, by the time the 4 of us had grabbed a camera and focussed she had dived and come back onto a further branch, facing away from the low evening light.

Anyone not wanting to have other blippers gloating about their catch will know who they are and which journals to avoid!!!!

I could survive on just a glass of Ribena as I couldn't eat anything. We all had an early night. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
