'Granny pop out of bed'

I don't know the real name for these flowers but our family call them 'granny pop out of beds'!!! - you squeeze the base of the flowers and it springs out!! - how this relates to a granny I don't quite know, and rest assured our grannies didn't have to endure being squeezed to get out of bed!!
