A mixed bag
44mm of rain yesterday but v little wind. More of the latter today.
Processing walnuts by hand is mucky work. Each year I attempt to be more selective but there is an almost atavistic urge to gather in and hoard nature’s gifts. To the point where they become a burden. A crop two years old I returned to the big meadow. Within days the piles of nuts had been crunched up into a drift of fragmented shells by the summer-drought-hungry boar.
Later the wind turned to the north and brought down a more substantial harvest. It looked like it might be snowing up on Monte Falterona (1650m) where the temp is just above freezing.
