that's not a bee...

...i said to myself

as i bent down to get a closer look - this didn't go over well with whatever this little guy is - he squirmed a bit - allowed me to get a couple shots - but that was it, before he skampered off...

leaving me to wonder - what on earth kind of insect he is? i hadn't planned on blipping him at all - in fact, as i made my way down the slope of the hill - i already had it all perfectly planned out - practically had the shot all but cropped in my head - until i spotted the daisy, then the bug - thinking it was a bee - just about jumping with delight i was seeing what i thought was a bee - boo! but really wasn't - making it that much more attractive - this is what blipping has done to me over the last... almost 3 years now - yikes!

it's made me more aware of my surroundings - of the earth and its inhabitants - and of bugs/insects - little critters that swarm about - used to be - i'd just swat at them to get 'em off me - now i pay attention to what they look like - what kind of wings they have - the colors on them - how they meld with the world around them - i find i don't get so distracted by them anymore - but am much more fascinated - enchanted - it doesn't mean i don't get slightly annoyed by them - do the occassional indrawn breath with some of them - like with spiders *shudders* - yet for the most part - i've learned to live more peacefully with them - i think that's the coolest thing ever -

so with this little guy - my curiosity got the best of me - instead of going with the more traditional post, i'm going with him - hoping someone might know what he is - put a name to him - and truly make it...

a

happy day.....
