Treborth

An afternoon trip to Treborth, on the Menai Straits just outside Bangor.   An AGS N Wales meeting, the speaker an good friend of many years.   Sue came with me, she very kindly drove, which was good as I was feeling decidedly ropey.   A day which had started grey threw in a number of fierce showers, some with hail.  It was cold but as we headed north there was more sunshine making it a pleasant drive.   A small group of us met the speaker for a meal at a pub overlooking the Menai Straits and Anglesey.   Afterwards Sue and I gave Bella and Meg a short walk in Treborth Botanic Gardens where the group meetings are held.   Lots of interest in the gardens, the Rosularia sedoides Alba, growing in a trough catching my eye.  There were some interesting things to see among the plants, perhaps the most striking the dragon in Extra Pic :-)

The cold theme continued on the way home. Just 2.5C as we drove in the shadow of Cadair Idris this evening. September!! Even December isn’t always as cold as this.
