I Witness

Wild Wednesday ...

... We Shall Never Forget.

We had four more monarch butterflies emerge in our nursery today.  We sent them ... plus one from yesterday ... all on their way in memory of all those sadly lost 23 years ago today.  These monarchs will migrate to Mexico where they will spend the Winter.  And the cycle will begin again come Spring. Please have a look full screen.

We have several more chrysalids in our nursery ... and one more caterpillar still eating.  This one had better hurry up as time is of the essence now!

Later after lunch we went up to Minsi Lake for some afternoon kayaking.  I've added into Extras a collage of some of my pictures.  The upper left photo is a Halloween Pennant Dragonfly.  The upper right is a Spreadwing Damselfly.  And the bottom picture is a Northern Red-bellied turtle ... that's my best guess anyway!
