Reading
Although I spent the morning programming, I spent the afternoon reading. Firstly there was a paper written by folk who have implemented in HiGHS the major programming task that I'll soon be starting. However, it was not well enough written to be as useful as I'd hoped. After that I read through the latest draft of the Royal Society memoir I'm helping to write, and then did the editing that I felt was necessary. There was still a bit of admin to do for my incoming PhD students, but it's dying down.
In the evening I was making fish pie, and had planned to walk Django whilst it was in the oven, but then I discovered that we didn't have milk, so I had to take in Lidl on his walk. A had already arrived (with daughter K) when I got back, so we ended up eating late. But it was good to catch up with K.
