Hornets eyes...

Thankfully I wasn't ambushed by nettles in getting this image, just got a thistle up the trouser leg which was... different... Those little walks up the Water of Leith at lunchtime have been very kind to me with macro subjects.

I THINK this is a Hornet, it's deffo not a Hoverfly, too big and it's not an evil Wasp so, Hornet it must be. So there.
