Tree -Time 2024 part 9

Another day when I slept in later than intended. The reason this time was that it took me ages to get to sleep last night because I was so cold - particularly my feet! In the end I put some warm socks on and curled up in a ball. Minstrel was sleeping next to me, also curled in a little catty ball.

It has been slightly warmer today and has only rained once, as far as I know. Once I had caught up on my Blip Comment backlog I put a wash load on, got ready and walked into town to get my tree shot.

The first time I went to take this photo there was a workman sitting on the wall beside the tree eating his lunch. I daren't start snapping away so I went and treated myself to a takeaway iced pumpkin spice chai latte from Starbucks while they're available - it was delicious!

On my way back to the tree I saw my son Zeph eating his lunch on a bench. I had a chat with him before going to take my shot. We won't see much of him over the coming month - he works for the University Students' Union and the beginning of a new year is always very busy for him.

Before going home I called into the Co-op for milk and some butter so I could make an apple and cinnamon cake with the apples I foraged the other day. It's pretty basic compared to the cakes Jeri makes but it tastes lovely!

My tree shot is a little earlier in the month than normal - I wanted to do it while it still has these lovely red berries on! I could have cropped this a bit more but I decided to leave the pigeon in.
