CLAPHAM - NOT JUNCTION

Both a bit frustrating but also enjoyable day to-day.

I just woke up in a sort of slight mood this morning, no idea why as, for me, I slept reasonably well, just one of those negative feeling sort of days.

It turned out into minor frustrations but still more enjoyable than anything else.

I'd had a text from the surgery a couple of days ago, but only saw it last night, to invite me for a covid jab.  I tried booking via their link but the earliest date would be right when we are hoping to be on holiday.  So I usesd the AskMyGP app to see if there was any possichancity that there could be an earlier date.  Then I just needed to wait for the phone call.

We decided we'd go to Clapham, North Yorkshire today as we haven't been for ages.  Due to one of those sort of mornings where everything seems to take twice as long we didn't leave until 9.45, that's late for me.  Got through Grange no problem, but up on the A590 getting close the M6 junction there was suddenly a lot of traffic and hold-ups - then we saw the cars in the fields and suddenly remembered it was the Westmorland County Show today.  No problems really it just took much longer due to the volume of traffic.  However once on the A65 no problems at all.

On getting to Clapham I went to pay parking and, guess what, they don't take coins you have to use your phone or contactless card.  Well I refuse to use my phone to pay for things as there are way too many scams to make that safe, so I used  the card, but it takes twice as long as putting in a few coins!!!

We decided to go on the Inglebrough Estate Nature Trail, just up to the cave and back, but not go into the cave today - we will go back for that though, once I've walked out if it's possible for me to do it - ie no crawling on all fours to get through places etc.

It's only about 2.5 miles return walk, but is ideal for me.  A very pleasant walk.    Just before we reached the cave entrance my phone went and I tried to answer it but was too late.  Then I couldn't see who had rung me as there was suddenly no signal.  Probably the surgery.  I didn't want to let them down so we just sat and had a coffee from the cave shop, enjoyed the scenery and headed back.

Just a few yards away I suddenly realised I didn't have my glasses round my neck - looked around me and couldn't see them so dashed back up to the bench, and they weren't there.  Scouted all the places I'd walked round  nothing - Hubby asked in the shop, nothing had been handed in. Instant panic, I've lost them - very expensive loss!!!! Headed back towards Clapham, keeping an eye out, went down near this little weir where I had veered to take a photo, I could see nothing - but YEAH - HUBBY FOUND THEM.  Woohoo.  I've no idea how they fell of as I wear them round my neck and the cord wasn't broken!!  Still never mind.

Got back to Clapham, stopped at the Old Sawmill Cafe for a panini and coffee.  Very friendly and helpful staff.  Then headed back to the car and home.  No hold ups on the way home, the show was still going on so we had got ahead of them coming out - woohoo again.

Decided to call into the surgery in case it was them trying to call me.  It wasn't but the extremely helpful, friendly and efficient Receptionist sorted it all out and I have my covid jab booked in on the same day as Hubby, just about 25 minutes later - no problem at all.  Another Woohoo.

Oh and I forgot to say that whilst on the A65 I saw this enormous 4 propellored aeroplane, American I think and for one I did not have my camera on my lap - aaarrghhh - it wa so low and would have made a perfect photo!!!!!

Now home and relaxing.  I want to go back on that Nature Trail, see if I can manage the cave and maybe even if I can managed to getup to Gaping Gill.  Watch this space as they say.

Apologies for ramblings, now my brain is begining to unfurl and relax and I will be processing most of the photos tomorrow,  but have a done a few in a collage (see extras) to share with you.
