Jake's Leavers Performance
This morning was finally the day of Eva's Baby Sensory trial. We'd been on the waiting list for about 2 months and the day had finally arrived. I was a little apprehensive as it was the first class I was going to just the 2 of us without going with a friend and their baby. We did not get off to a great start as the blumming car wouldn't start, I was on the phone to Mike stressing and thinking we'd have to miss it after all, when I decided to give it one last try and it started. We got there for just before 11 am when it was due to start and we then couldn't find a parking space. I must have done five 3 point turns up and down the street getting more and more wound up, in the end I decided to just block someone's gate. The next thing was once we got in and sat on the mat with everybody, I stood on the back of my dress and the strap broke, it really was not my morning. On top of the fact Eva hadn't had her nap as we'd woke late so she was shattered.
It was really good to be fair, apart from me feeling like the new girl lol. We did Twinkle Twinkle with twinkly lights and sign language, played lots of homemade musical instruments, and played with hand puppets (Eva loved the monkey one).
With Baby Sensory and a lot of these classes, you have to pay in advance for 10 weeks, so if you miss one, you lose your money. With it being the Summer hols now, and we have lots going on, I decided not to commit at this stage, but to rejoin the waiting list for next time round.
My mom came round in the afternoon for the 2 nd time since Eva was born. Since her accident at work she hasn't been out really, so it was fantastic, I absolutely loved it and told her she has to come round more now.
Jake had got his school leavers performance at 6.30, so Mike got out of work early, I'd got Jake his tea early and made sure Eva was fully fed, and we walked round to the school early to try and make sure we got a seat by the door (due to this heat) and could fit the pushchair by the side of us.
It was absolutely brilliant. It was Hollywood's Got Talent with a lot of the pupils doing their talent (singers, dancers, a band playing Seven Nation Army to name but a few). Some other kids played old people watching the show as if it was actually on telly, and they had kids playing the judges. Jake played Simon Cowell and he was so good! And dressed to perfection including a fake hairy chest, very comical. The show was full of one liners that all the adults found funny, and you could see how much work had gone into it and also how much the kids had thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
Eva was absolutely golden too. She started to cry a bit at the very start as she was in her pushchair under the speaker and couldn't see where the noise was coming from, but as soon as we got her out and she could see all around, she was happy.
Grandad Nash was here waiting outside when we got back as he was enroute to pick Pauline up from East Midlands airport, so that was a nice surprise.
We'd got home around 7.40 pm, and Eva was bathed, fed and asleep by not long after 8pm, she was absolutely shattered. Xxx
