Finally

Home late afternoon and finally it’s dry, the wind has let up slightly and it’s just warm enough to sit out on the roof terrace. Though not for long, two beers’ worth!
In the morning we were back in Südstadt and by an amazing stroke of luck we got a quick shifty around S‘s grandfolks‘ old flat. It’s up for rent and people were viewing today so the very friendly estate agent let us poke around! However, S seemed less than impressed with the changes that the last 30 years have wrought. Progress eh?
A quick visit to the local tennis club followed before we caught the U-bahn to the Wilhelm Busch museum. Enjoyed the exhibitions but as usual my German let me down a bit. A stroll to Nordstadt led us to a wee cafe where I enjoyed my best slice of quiche in yonks, a warming coffee, a marvellous slice of poppyseed & chocolate cake and a wee beer. Heaven!
But all things must end apparently so it was back to the Aparthotel …. and the roof terrace!
