Road trip!

My birthday trip present to myself, I'm away on my van, 3 days, 4 lidos to swim in and some general bimbling around.

Left home just before ten, drove to Cambridge to the very fabulous Jesus Green Lido. Just under 100m long and not heated, there were a few other swimmers but not many. This is the perfect week for a lido road trip, schools are back and the lidos are still open and quiet. I swam for about 30 mins then decided the 18 degrees had made me chilly enough. V annoyingly I didn't notice the sauna until I was dressed but no real matter. Floated out in a chilled world of my own and wandered down to the park cafe- a cup of tea and a triple cheese and chilli jam toastie which was just as delicious as it sounds. Then a nice wander into and round Cambridge, bought some books, generally enjoyed myself.

Then, the excitement was not over! Drove to Gloria's and Jack's where we had a very lovely evening of dinner and getting all caught up. What a smashing day 1!!
