Katoomba

Katoomba is somewhat disparaged as a rather run down, seedy town and I’d agree the winter weather can be dismal at times, but personally I think it has a lot more character than many places. And if you’re into diversity there’s plenty of that too.
The traffic to and from can be heavy at weekends (all the tourists wanting to come TO Katoomba) but nothing like what we encountered this evening after visiting my physio in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. All routes through the tunnel and bridge to the north shore were solid red lines. We ended up going the long way via the western suburbs.
Now relaxing after a very nice meal at the local Italian restaurant.
