Waking up in Soho

We stayed last night at Hazlitt’s, the small townhouse sister hotel to Batty Langley’s where we stayed in May.  My theory that both are, very pretty, fictions designed to appeal to Americans was born out by the pair with a ton of luggage checking in when we checked out.   As the rooms are small that’s going to be an issue I thought.

But my favourite thing is waking up in Soho and looking down on streets I know so well.  Soho comes to life slowly, shaking off the night before.  It can be noisy but not on a Monday night when the only thing we heard was a man walking down the street at 4am shouting ‘hello!  Hello!’

We had breakfast in Soho House (much needed) and then I went over to the office and V took my case home.

Lunch with Faith who was sad to have missed the screening and was strategic about the way ahead.  In the office I had a series of mopping up conversations and managed to leave around 5 getting home to watch the slightly forced penultimate episode of Sherwood.

We are starting to get previews in the Listing mags which are good and certainly make the show sound fun and watchable.

Cold night.
