Planning next year's crops
I'm going to try growing flax next year. Apparently you only need 1 square metre of flax to produce enough linen for a tea towel, but I'm not setting my sights that high first time. I'm aiming for some flax seeds and some garden twine.
The main difference between a seed crop and linen production is the planting distance and when you harvest. Close packed and harvested early for linen , spread out and harvested later for seeds and courser fibres.
So now you know as much as I do. We will see what happens in practice. :-)
