Money money money

I spent some time over the weekend sorting out all the loose coins we’ve accumulated, some of which came from recent holidays but the largest piles were coins from here in the uk which get tossed into a giant Iru Bru plastic container in the bedroom.

I was amazed to find we had 24 US dollars in 1 cents. I think I’ll take them with us on our transatlantic cruise in November and try to change them in New York (assuming that they don’t weigh too much).

In pounds and pence I think we’ve got a couple of hundred pounds (if I’ve counted correctly) including £10 in old style one pound coins which I’m hoping the bank will swap.

Woke feeling a bit sneezy and although I managed a long walk with Phin this morning, had to retire to bed after lunch where I napped for an hour and felt much better afterwards but started feeling rough again at dinner time.

I’d volunteered to collect the weekly dues at Rotary tonight so despite feeling under the weather, we headed off after we’d eaten. Couldn’t believe it when our raffle ticket number was drawn again as that was the second time we’d won the bottle of wine in two weeks. I asked for it to be redrawn. I’ve counted the money ready to hand back to the lady who normally does it next week.

Heading for an early night loaded up with cold and flu medication.
