Xena had a walk this morning before I headed off to golf, it was breezy but not too cool. The forecast was not looking promising so we were not sure whether we would play or not. The golf academy where I have my group lessons has a 6 hole golf course - I have mentioned this before - the rest of the land was sold off years ago, land being so valuable around here it was an offer that the owners could not refuse. Surprisingly the 6 hole golf course is very popular, they market it as '6 in 60' meaning one can play 6 holes in 60 minutes which suits peoples' busy lives. Anyway we were only playing 6 holes so we decided to go for it, and the management very generously suggested we don't pay but go out and if rained off we can come off the course, and if we finish we can pay then. It is also very inexpensive to play there which is great.
We did play all 6 holes as the weather was fine and dry. It was slower than expected as we were chatting a fair bit, and we also let a 2 ball through but they turned out to be much slower than us and kept us waiting at every hole which was rather annoying. After golf we sat and had a coffee at the cafe there, so I got home some time after lunch and had a late lunch. Xena got a second walk and it started drizzling then.
DPD have annoyingly delivered my parcel to the house across the road from us, and as the house is currently unoccupied I cannot get my parcel. It is lying on the front lawn but all the houses here are fenced with gates so I cannot access the property. I may have to try and reach it with a very long broom or similar!
I must now go prepare the food for book club tonight. I have started reading All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker which I have recommended as our book club read - it is an author I have not read before but there has been so many rave reviews about the book that I decided to read it. I am really enjoying it so far.
