You would never guess I expect, That this bell was originally hung in a Russian Orthodox Church. When the Russians recognised Finland's independence at the end of 1917, it was taken down from the Russian Garrison church on Suomenlinna and is now on permanent display. The church itself is now Lutheran and still in use.
With this shot I am about to take one of my semi regular breaks from Blipfoto in order to concentrate on other photographic matters. 24 hours in the day are proving a few too little just now, so keep the pot boiling while I am away.
