Bowness Knott

We've had friends up to stay for a couple of days. Today started with strong wind and rain but it eased off and so we took a chance to have a walk at Ennerdale as there was a bit of shelter along the forest path should we need it. As is often the way when you get out there the conditions don't seem so bad so we decided to head up onto Bowness Knott for the views along Ennerdale. 
Autumn is definitely well on the way, the Rowan trees were full of berries , Heather was full in flower and the Silver Birch leaves are beginning to turn yellow.
This shot was taken on my phone, not carrying the camera as we were expecting a soaking. It's looking east from the summit down onto Ennerdale Water with Pillar, Scoat Fell & Haycock standing behind.
