Journeys Pt 2

What a day!
The funeral went as well as they do and it was lovely to see 'A' with his grandson and to see his 2 children. ( See extra of his son with his nephew baby T)
Then for the journey from hell. Left Birmingham International station on time at 15 45. Train stopped at Preston to be told a problem ahead. We moved from Preston, to Lancaster, to Oxenholme to Penrith to Carlisle  spending an hour at each station. We were kept well informed but I was desperately needing to be back for youngest. There were by midnight 9 trains stuck unable to reach Scotland. I got a sandwich and coffee for free ( see blip best I could manage for theme, thanks to host) and the lovely crew were sympathetic to my distress by that point. Eventually at 1.30 they took me and another lady off the train and put us in a taxi at Carlisle it brought me back via her house near Stirling and I got in at 3.45 am. Immediately took over with Baby V. I'm shattered but relieved, many people stranded till much much later. Think our train eventually went to Edinburgh but most others terminated with over 300 passengers on each!!
