Cooler and Fun Day!

A high of 82F/28C this afternoon, tomorrow cooler still. This is the first Monday all summer that I had no obligations- like teaching or Labor Day. I went for a walk, did my PT exercises and then decided to putter around in the courtyard. There’s a lot of plants that I want to repot before I bring them in for the season - granted that’s at least a month away if not longer. But good to get it done. Now that I’ve lived here for almost 2 years I have a much better sense of what plants need to be where. I enjoyed myself thoroughly!

I had 8 bags of soil for raised beds delivered this morning. Six went down to my raised veggie bed, the other two will go in the courtyard planters. I managed to move them all using a hand truck and my golf cart. I was really proud of myself…and my back seems to have cooperated…all those PT exercises are working!! I’ll plant fall/winter crops this week: lettuce, arugula, cilantro, spinach and radishes

Here’s a Sarracenia looking really lovely and healthy! Just waiting for insects :-)
