Prickly pears

The plant on which they grow, the prickly pear cactus, is widespread in southern Spain where it has been used as a way of marking the boundaries between farms for many years.
It is not native to Spain, it is a Mexican plant and is considered an invasive species, but here it is commonly accepted for its use as a farm boundary marker and because in summer we eat its fruits, the prickly pears
