Are We Nearly There Yet?

The sign at the bottom said invitingly "Covenanter Trail to Wanlockhead"
Backed up by a nice dotted line on the map we decided to give it a go. We thought we might even be able to cycle, if not up, then down again.
4 sweaty hours later, having tramped through bracken, dodged herds of cows, climbed mountains, forded streams, we didn't exactly find our dream - well not in cycling terms anyway. But it was a gorgeous day and the scenery was spectacular.
We did eventually break out of the wilderness to find a tarmac road and were able to free wheel down to the village of Wanlockhead where heaven awaited in the form of cold drinks and baked potatoes at the cafe.
