Aubergine (2)

Aargh, awakened in Blackburn, ate their indifferent breakfast, and headed north again. Weather dull but at least not actually raining today (must be the first time for a week). Getting back to Leith given all the road closures/roadworks. etc was quite a challenge but we managed it. I find that I have mislaid or lost our resident's car parking permit - I may have dropped it in C's house 400 m south. Still, hire car goes back tomorrow so tant pis.

I was amazed to find the Leith Aubergine still in situ (its stalk looks so flimsy) - it's approximately doubled in size in a week, so we're anticipating a delicious micro-ratatouille.
