Meadow Field Syrph

Huge electric storm overnight and another this morning. A proper deluge. Amazing how quickly it cleared up and the sun came out. A slightly wider selection of visitors to the ivy bush today. I saw but didn't get a decent image of my first ivy bee of the season. I think this could be a meadow field syrph hoverfly. 

I got a call from my daughter asking what to do about stains on some of my grandson's favourite wardrobe items. I thought they could probably do with my dhobi-wallering skills so Mish and I went to pick them up. There is a scarecrow festival on in High Wych and, from the safety of the van, Mish absolutely loved seeing and barking at all the people and their dogs thronging the street.
