Exploring the new Metro train line
Today Trisharooni and I, being grand adventurers, explored a number of stations along the recently completed section of Sydney's Metro train line. Boarding at Sydenham, the line's furthest south station, we got out and wandered around Waterloo, Central, Gadigal and Barangaroo stations. They are quite a spectacle and state of the art with beautiful decorative features, easy to get around in lifts or on escalators and everything is well sign posted. Even the toilets are amazing but be sure to press the lock button or you too will be a spectacle.
We liked Gadigal the best. My main shows the corrugated lining of the entries and exits. There are leading lines to burn so any photographer would love it. My extra shows one of two tiled murals, by Callum Morton, titled The Underneath (sounds so much better than The Underground).
Next time our explorations of the Metro line will take us further north, beyond Barangaroo, which means we will cross the great divide to The Other Side of the Harbour.
