Back to the river
Had an amazing day today. The staff at the National Park here are very enterprising and run trips to interesting parts of the park. Yesterday it was a hike into the moonscape of Grosbeak Lake, today it was a canoe trip into Pine Lake. The days are so long here.. We didn't start till 6.30pm and left the lake around 9 and the sun was still up.. Beautiful. On the way back we saw a bison on the road along with a calf... No... A bear...! Not only a bear but a bear with 2 little cubs frolicking in the long grass! But of course the pictures didn't turn out and my bison shot had a branch in front of his eye so this pelican fishing in the rapids won the day because he at least is in focus. Going with our trusty park guide Amy again today to the Salt plains so hopefully I'll see another bison because they are so huge I want to show you guys! I did see one last time. Bison in winter
