What's up?

Although I'd love to report that I'd nipped over to the Kalahari Desert - this picture was taken this morning at Marwell Zoo..

The Meerkat's were very sociable, posed beatifully and the little children and babies seemed to love them.
They are actually part of the Mongoose family, and dig tunnels and line them with grass in the wild.
These ones appeared happy in their spacious enclosure which was very 'Desert' like today in 30degree temperatures. There were plenty of rocks, hillocks and tunnels to both hide in and keep a look out.

J and I still can't get used to being semi-retired...what a nice way to spend a Thursday morning. We had lunch at a lakeside pub too.
