a lifetime burning

Its a lot less bovver with a hover

Well, the rain has stopped, at least that is to say, it has stopped for now.  But it being the Autumn we are due some more bucket fulls of the stuff  tonight and tomorrow.  Strangely after yesterday's cool weather it's back to being warm and humid - positively steamy.  Unfortunately there's not any sunshine to speak of as the cloud cover is pretty much total.  Still, there were insects about in the garden and I didn't need a coat to go and photograph them which is definitely a plus.

The spiders have definitely decided that it is autumn as there have been more of them coming indoors in recent days.  But it is not just spiders seeking a break from the rain.  This morning I actually found a shieldbug (the non-stinky European version of the US stink bug) on one of the upstairs carpets.  It has now been safely deposited back outside.

I've a little trip planned for later in the year and some of the reading material that I ordered in preparation has now arrived.  So it being wet outside isn't the end of the world as I've got plenty to keep me busy over the coming weeks.
