tempus fugit

Ffwrn again

This ex-church  hall with a huge stone oven behind the bar is the only place in town for a relaxed evening out  with nice food, music and company.
(The oven was built in 2013 under the aegis of the previous owner.)

Sometimes when I run out of cooking inspiration we go here (if it's open). The joint can jump, as I've blipped it before, when the gig is wild but this evening the guitarist and singer Tina Bridgman (extra) was relaxed and melodious and provided a very agreeable vibe. Tina is remarkable for a guitarist in being one-handed. She lost the other in a road accident which initially seemed to put paid to her career but she discovered she could use her stump to hold down the chords and now she's blooming.
(You can read about her here.)

Ffwrn's current owner is an easygoing but firm Australian; her  own teenagers were serving the food. Two dogs, accompanying a family with a small child, behaved well and joined in the applause after each song with appreciative barks. One couple got up and danced (they always do.)
It was a good way to end the week.
