Second day in Dufftown, Speyside.

I woke up at 4am in order to go and take pictures of the sunrise. Luckily, my shoes were dry, although my jeans werent, so I went out in my leggings again. It was the most amazing feeling to walk along the countryside first thing in the morning with not a soul around.

I tried to go to a nice viewpoint for the sunrise but I couldn't find the perfect one, so I didn't get great results. On the way to get the perfect spot I had to walk through a massive amount of slugs that had come out from everywhere. Trying not to step on them was hard and, on top of that, I was attacked by midges. Not a great start and not great pictures either, but it doesn't really matter. The early morning light was really beautiful and It was a great feeling to be there, in spite of the slugs and midges. I spotted a bambi in the distance but, as I lifted the camera to take a picture of it, it ran away, so I could only get a very distant shot of it. I went back to the B&B and back to bed.

Woke up later to a massive full Scottish breakfast. This B&B, Errolbank, has a reputation for big full Scottish breakfast, and lived up to its reputation, believe me!! I couldn't finish it! As I was having my breakfast I noticed that the B&B lady, Jane, had the biggest collection of whisky miniatures I had ever seen! I asked her about it and she said that she hadn't planned to collect them, that it sort of happened. She has 3,500 whisky miniatures!! Of course, I took a picture of her collection. She told me that there is a man who has a bigger collection of whisky miniatures but, apparently, he doesn't have some that she has. Well, she's not prepared to give them to him! So she told me, hahaha!

I went to Glenfiddich distillery afterwards, where I tasted a few whiskies and I took some photos, and then I went for a wander in the countryside. This time no mud!! Hahaha! Apparently, Glenfiddich distillery has award winning toilets, so I went to see them and took a picture of them as well (what a tourist I am!!! haha!)

The Spirit of Speyside train, the one in the picture, only runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so I was glad I could take pictures of it without fear of being run over by it.

When I finally went back to the B&B to pick up my bag and check out, Jean was there with her sister Sybil and a friend having a chat, so they invited me to a cup of tea and biscuits. Very cheerful ladies! I took a picture of them before I left and I promised I would send a copy to them!

As I was at the Square waiting for my bus, a cyclist seemed to look at me with interest, but never stopped to chat. The journey back home felt really long!

Back in Edinburgh now. It was a short but enjoyable trip and it was great to switch off from everything for a couple of days. I had so many images to choose from though, that the decision was really difficult, but I finally settled for this one.
