Back in the East Neuk of Fife

Not a great ferry journey at all. The dog friendly cabin was right at the end, next to the engine and was awful. The smell of diesel, the vibrations so bad that everything in the cabin shook, the engine noise all night long. Probably one my worst trips ever! Lottie was terrified. She shook and panted and was very scared, even though first I had her in with me then Mike had her in with him. We did get a bit of sleep each but not much.
We docked at 7am and were down in Fife before 10am. Lovely to be back with S. We know each other so well and it's like being back home. Although we write to each other regularly, and phone and email, we always have plenty to talk about.
Mike and Lottie had a bit of a rest while we went to do some food shopping, have a bit of a walk and have an ice cream!
After lunch, homemade bread and soup and salad,  Mike had a go at mending part of S's pianola while we went for a proper walk through the woods nearby, where S used to live. Lottie was able to be off her lead and enjoy herself! It was breezy and sunny and perfect.
The campsite isn't far away and we were so exhausted that we were abed almost straight away!
So good to be back.
