The Big Boiler Service

I was warned last year by our heating engineer that the next service would be a Big One

It all went well today and I await the invoice with trepidation.

The object you see here consists of two electrodes, somewhat pitted from use, plus an electrification probe which has eroded and should be longer.
The whole unit was replaced.

We discussed what would happen if we needed to replace the aging boiler and he maintained that a Heat Pump boiler would not be at all satisfactory for the building.
