It’s a long story.  Short version - 2 months ago a sub-contractor for the telephone company installed a fibre cable into the house of our next door neighbour, Steve.  The contractor then cut and removed the old copper cable and ….. left.  Without connecting the fibre cable to the fibre network.  Because there is no fibre network in our street.  And without telling anyone.

This was two days after Trish died and Steve was left to deal with her funeral and all that entailed with no phone, no internet …….

This morning, before 7.00am, the real guys were on the case.  We have fibre in the street.  Steve is now connected and there’s also a cable waiting to be poked through a hole in our wall and into our house.

The real guys have been fantastic - polite, helpful and working in quite difficult circumstances.  It’s not their fault it’s taken so long. That lies somewhere else ….
