Michael Hope

It reached 30' today, so I thought I'd get out in the morning and check out David Jones spring flower show. The flowers were predominantly Australian natives and I couldn't go past the masses of flannel flowers.
Perversely, I don't have a flower blip.

This is Michael Hope, the resident pianist, who sits at a baby grand and plays Cole Porter, Fats Waller and requests.
He has been doing this for thirty years, with a brief interlude when he was deemed not cool enough for the younger, hipper customer they were trying to attract.

The woman in extras is one of his many fans.
