For Heart Freeks July Challenge - wood

We brought this wood carving in Maputo a few years ago for about £5...such detail. It now hangs on my hall wall. South Africa is a special place for me. I have family there and I am very much looking forward to seeing them all at Christmas this year. We have spent many a happy holiday traveling around South Africa and thankfully, I have never felt vulnerable. We are of course aware of our surroundings and don't venture off the beaten track too much but always found everyone very happy, helpful and caring. From our travels over there we have made friends with people whom we have met on the way and have been back to see a few of them over the years. I now have friends on blip from South Africa, so whatever I do South Africa is never far!!
Today Nelson Mandela is 95 years old - what a man! I hope he enjoys his birthday as much as possible.
