Autumn Crocuses
First day of September and the weather is complete contrast to yesterday, very dull, grey and gloomy – not enough daylight. I had a quiet morning. There was lots of washing done and hung out, but it was not a good drying day – which was very disappointing.
I procrastinated about going for a run, and very late morning I got myself out for my first run in about three weeks. I wasn’t keen, but I did manage a very slow and steady six miles, so was pleased. I’m not sure where the afternoon went, but TT volunteered to cook, so BB and I went out for a walk late in the afternoon. We just did a local circuit, which was enough to give my legs a stretch after my run. I wasn’t feeling fabulous when I got back home, but to be honest I haven’t been feeling myself these past few days.
Tea was lovely and we all really enjoyed the prawn and courgette curry – yes it is the time of year where we eat a lot of this, made with home-grown courgettes.
After tea, I took up residence on the sofa as I was feeling pretty rubbish. Even wearing a thick fleece and with two blankets, I couldn’t get warm. I have developed a skin infection over the past few days which seems to be getting worse. A doctor friend, who was with us on Arran, has told me to get to my GP – so I will try to get an appointment in the morning.
These autumn crocuses were blooming when we came back from holiday last week. August seems early for autumn crocuses to be in full bloom, but looking back I blipped them on 24 August last year..
