A problem with the reeds

The water in our pond is usually at its lowest at this time in the year.  Our gardener can usually cut away the reeds quite easily.  This year they have grown profusely and they are still standing in water.  So it would be dangerous for Oreste to get to the reeds.  We are not sure what to do as they are blocking our view of the pond so we can't see our moorhens and occasional ducks.  Not sure of a solution but Oreste will think.of something.
