The aftermath of a housefire

Backblip, done in September 2024

At 19:27. One of the extra photos:
We were having our dinner here at home when we noticed the awful smell of smoke coming in through an open window and a grey cloud seemed to have suddenly appeared outside. When we went out on the lower balcony we saw lots of smoke coming from the house #37, next to the one at #35 which we lived in ourselves for 14 years. Those houses were built in 1906, made of timber imported from Norway.

At 22:36. One of the extra photos:
Firetrucks, lots of firemen, police and ambulance, people coming and going.
Both the couples living in our old house #35 came here with their pet after everything began happening, just to get their head straight for a minute before taking the next step allowed in this dangerous situation.
We watched the situation unfold from the balcony.

At 23:17. The blipped photo:
When the fire seemed to be almost under control and the ambulance had long gone, we went outside to see how things had progressed.
The roof and top floor almost gone and lots of damage to the rest of the house. Demolition of the building had already started with the big container positioned in front and there was to be someone watching the remains through the night in case of the heat caused a hidden fire somewhere.
