Capturing my Journey

Stewart

Stewart is back on the coast again but much further north. In fact it's right near the border to Alaska. A very dramatic entry with low mist high rivers steaming and smoking with mist very atmospheric. Stewart is an old mining village left over from a different time. We enjoyed one of the best pizzas I've had for a long time in a cafe for lunch before we perused some shops and then took the boardwalk walk out over the estuary and then took a walk through the trees with the young dogs before returning to the truck. After chatting with a lovely lady in her wee store we decided to stay nearby in the hopes of seeing th mountains hidden in the mist the next day. We took a forest service road outside of town and found a nice we spot amongst some ancient trees. Hints of blue sky and less drizzle was welcomed while we ate dinner and fed the dogs. We went to bed very early needing more rest and enjoyed a good long night's sleep!

"I don't ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful." - Pete Hamill
