Prince Rupert

Finally reached the coast today. 2 years since we've seen the sea. It was a profoundly emotional experience for me. I found the smell and sound and feeling made me miss my family greatly. We enjoyed breakfast at a small cafe and a walk around town in the rain dipping into different shops and admiring the various murals in town. We then took the dogs to an area bottom left picture where they could paddle in the sea briefly. Before heading onto the Cannery. A museum showing the whole process of canning salmon which the area was famous for for quite some time. Cannery is in top right picture. We then had an early dinner of local beer battered halibut and chips and a shrimp basket. Absolutely delicious!! I've missed decent seafood! We also bought some crabcakes for tomorrow's dinner. We then headed out of town and a bit further inland finding a handy we spot by a stream on a forest service road for our next camp spot!
